Scientific Background

TAT-NSF700 is a cell-permeable fusion peptide combining the HIV Tat transduction sequence with an NSF-derived inhibitory region. Published studies reported that this fusion construct inhibits N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor-dependent exocytosis and reduces thrombin-stimulated endothelial exocytosis, providing a tool for studying NSF-dependent vesicle fusion and regulated secretion.

Research Applications
  • NSF-dependent exocytosis studies
  • endothelial secretion research
  • cell-penetrating peptide delivery studies
  • vesicle-fusion experiments
Experimental Notes

The Tat domain promotes cellular delivery and can itself influence uptake and intracellular distribution. Tat-only and sequence-control peptides are useful when attributing effects to the NSF700 region.
