Scientific Background

YGRKKRRQRRRAKEGANVAG is a cell-permeable TAT-GluR23A fusion peptide designed as a phosphorylation-deficient control for the GluR2-derived GluR23Y endocytosis peptide. In the GluR2 segment, key tyrosines are replaced with alanines, removing phosphorylation sites implicated in regulated AMPA-receptor trafficking. The peptide is therefore useful as a matched control in studies of GluR2 tyrosine phosphorylation, AMPA receptor endocytosis and synaptic plasticity.

Research Applications
  • AMPA receptor trafficking controls
  • GluR2 phosphorylation studies
  • synaptic plasticity research
  • cell-penetrating control peptide studies
Experimental Notes

TAT-GluR23A is a mutant control construct, not a guarantee of complete biological inactivity. Its use is most informative when tested in parallel with the corresponding TAT-GluR23Y peptide under matched conditions.
