TAT (47-57), FAM-Labeled

FAM-YGRKKRRQRRR is a fluorescent version of the arginine-rich HIV-1 TAT protein-transduction domain. TAT-derived peptides are widely used as model cell-penetrating peptides and delivery vectors. FAM enables visualization and fluorescence quantitation near 494/521 nm.

Apparent cellular fluorescence can include membrane-associated and endosomal peptide. Appropriate washing, extracellular quenching and localization controls improve interpretation of uptake experiments.
