Scientific Background | DABCYL-gamma-Abu-IHPFHLVIHT-EDANS is an internally quenched fluorogenic substrate for human renin. The IHPFHLVIHT segment is derived from the N-terminal angiotensinogen renin-cleavage region. Renin hydrolyzes the Leu-Val bond, separating the EDANS fluorophore from DABCYL and restoring fluorescence. This permits continuous measurement of renin proteolytic activity and inhibitor effects. |
