Histone H3(1-21) is the unmodified N-terminal tail of histone H3 and contains several major regulatory residues, including Lys4, Lys9, Ser10, Lys14 and Lys18. This peptide is widely used as a reference substrate for histone methyltransferases, demethylases, acetyltransferases and modification-sensitive binding proteins.
