CDK5 Substrate Peptide, PKTPKKAKKL

PKTPKKAKKL is a histone H1-derived peptide substrate used to study cyclin-dependent kinase 5 (CDK5). Structural and kinetic work with this sequence demonstrated specific recognition of basic residues surrounding the phosphoacceptor threonine and helped define substrate interactions within the CDK5 active site. The peptide is therefore useful for CDK5 phosphorylation and substrate-recognition studies.
