Caspase-3 Fluorogenic Substrate, Ac-DEVD-AFC

Ac-DEVD-AFC is an acetylated fluorogenic tetrapeptide substrate for DEVD-preferring effector caspases. Proteolytic cleavage releases AFC and converts enzyme activity into a fluorescence signal. Published substrate studies support strong recognition by caspase-3, with lower catalytic efficiency for caspase-7 under comparative conditions.
