Caspase-3 Chromogenic Substrate, Ac-DEVD-pNA

Ac-DEVD-pNA is a chromogenic tetrapeptide substrate used for DEVD-dependent caspase activity measurements. Cleavage releases p-nitroaniline, which can be monitored spectrophotometrically near 405 nm. DEVD substrates are widely used for caspase-3/7-type effector-caspase assays, but published specificity studies show overlap among caspase family members, so enzyme identity should be confirmed with appropriate controls.
