Scientific Background

Biotin-DADE-pY-LIPQQG is a biotinylated phosphotyrosine peptide derived from the Tyr992 autophosphorylation region of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). The phosphorylated sequence is recognized by protein tyrosine phosphatases including PTP1B, while the N-terminal biotin enables affinity capture and immobilization. It is therefore useful for phosphatase assays, phosphotyrosine-binding studies, and EGFR phosphosite-related method development.

Research Applications
  • protein tyrosine phosphatase assays
  • PTP1B substrate studies
  • streptavidin-based phosphopeptide capture
  • EGFR Tyr992 phosphosite research
Experimental Notes

This is a pre-phosphorylated peptide and is most appropriate as a phosphatase substrate or phosphopeptide reagent rather than as an EGFR kinase substrate. The biotin tag can be used for capture but may alter solution-phase kinetics.
