The PLP (Myelin Proteolipid Protein) (139-151) Peptide has been found to be highly immunogenic in inducing Experimental Allergic Encephalomyelitis (EAE) in SJC/J (H-2s) mice as part of an autoimmune response. The sequence is derived from PLP, with PLP cysteine replaced by serine. This fragment of myelin proteolipid protein is an encephalitogenic determinant, able to bind to diverse sets of T cell receptors.
