SAMS Peptide, AMPK Substrate

SAMS peptide, HMRSAMSGLHLVKRR-NH2, is a classic synthetic substrate developed for AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK). The peptide contains the AMPK phosphorylation motif originally used to establish a sensitive peptide assay for AMPK activity. Its central serine serves as the phosphoacceptor, and SAMS peptide remains a widely recognized biochemical reagent for measuring AMPK catalytic activity and comparing AMPK-related kinases.
