Scientific Background

SN50 is a synthetic cell-permeable peptide constructed by linking a hydrophobic membrane-translocating sequence to a nuclear localization sequence derived from the NF-kappaB p50 region. The original study showed that SN50 inhibits nuclear translocation of NF-kappaB-containing complexes and has therefore been widely used as a mechanistic probe of stimulus-dependent NF-kappaB nuclear import.
