Scientific Background

Mca-PLGL-Dap(Dnp)-AR is an internally quenched fluorogenic peptide used for continuous matrix metalloproteinase assays. The Mca reporter is quenched by the Dnp group before cleavage; proteolysis within the PLGL-containing region separates fluorophore and quencher and increases fluorescence. This format is useful as a general MMP activity reagent rather than as an absolutely isoform-specific substrate.

Experimental Notes
