Crosstide Akt/PKB Substrate

Crosstide, GRPRTSSFAEG, is a peptide substrate used for protein kinase B/Akt activity measurements. It was developed from a glycogen-synthase kinase-3-related phosphorylation sequence and is efficiently recognized by Akt/PKB isoforms. Published work has also shown phosphorylation by other AGC-family kinases such as MAPKAP kinase-1 and p70 S6 kinase, making Crosstide useful for comparative kinase profiling as well as Akt-focused assays.

Crosstide is not absolutely specific for Akt. In complex samples, Akt-selective inhibitors, purified enzymes or orthogonal controls are recommended when assigning kinase activity.
