| Cys(Npys)-(Arg)9: C(Npys)RRRRRRRRR - NH2 |
|
The peptide has nine Arginine residues and is modified with an activated cysteine residue C(Npys). The Npys is 3-Nitro-2-pyridinesulfenyl group protected cysteine. The peptide is used as a carrier peptide in conjugation and cell permable studies. The C(Npys) group will react selectively with the free thiol group of any other proteins or antibodies containing a free cysteine. Coupling of sulfhydrils has been studied as an effective means to deliver/release therapeutics such as siRNA in the reducing environment within the cell. It was used for antibody-mediated felivery of siRNAs for anti-HIV therapy. |
