ACE2/Caspase-1 FRET Substrate, Mca-YVADAPK(Dnp)

Mca-YVADAPK(Dnp) is an internally quenched fluorogenic peptide that combines the YVAD caspase-1 recognition motif with a C-terminal APK(Dnp) quencher region. Cleavage separates Mca from Dnp and generates a fluorescence increase near 325/393 nm. The reagent has been used in caspase-1 assays and, in other assay formats, as a fluorogenic substrate for ACE2-like peptidase activity.

This substrate is not uniquely selective for a single enzyme across all assay systems. Its interpretation depends on enzyme source, cleavage site and inhibitor controls; use orthogonal assays when distinguishing caspase-1 from ACE2-like activity.
