TRP-2 (181-188) H-2Kb Epitope Peptide

VYDFFVWL corresponds to residues 181-188 of murine tyrosinase-related protein 2 (TRP-2/DCT) and is a well-characterized H-2Kb-restricted cytotoxic T-lymphocyte epitope. The original tumor-antigen study showed that this octamer mediated recognition of peptide-pulsed target cells by TRP-2-reactive T cells, establishing TRP-2(181-188) as a defined melanoma-associated murine class I epitope.

VYDFFVWL is the minimal 8-mer epitope described in the original study. A related 9-mer, SVYDFFVWL, has also been studied and can show different H-2Kb binding properties; the two peptides should not be treated as interchangeable.
