Src Optimal Peptide Substrate

AEEEIYGEFEAKKKK is an optimized tyrosine-containing peptide substrate used to measure Src-family kinase catalytic activity. The central tyrosine serves as the phosphoacceptor, while acidic residues N-terminal to Tyr and a basic C-terminal tail create a sequence context favorable for Src recognition. The peptide has been used in biochemical Src assays, inhibitor studies and mechanistic work comparing Src-family kinase activity.
