Scientific Background

NFF-3 is an internally quenched fluorogenic substrate designed to discriminate stromelysin-1 (MMP-3) activity from several related MMPs. Published kinetic studies reported rapid hydrolysis by MMP-3, substantially slower cleavage by MMP-9, and little or no significant hydrolysis by MMP-1 or MMP-2 under the tested conditions. This makes NFF-3 especially useful for comparative MMP-3 activity measurements.
