Magainin 1

Magainin 1 is a 23-residue antimicrobial peptide originally isolated from Xenopus skin. It forms an amphipathic helix in membranes and is widely used to study peptide-induced membrane permeabilization and broad-spectrum antimicrobial mechanisms.
