Scientific Background | [Lys8, Asn9] Neurotensin LANT-6 (8-13) is a synthetic research peptide in the neurotensin family. Neurotensin is a 13-residue neuropeptide and hormone that signals principally through neurotensin receptors NTS1 and NTS2. Structural work established the C-terminal NT(8-13) region as the principal receptor-activating segment for NTS1. Native peptide, C-terminal fragments, and stabilized analogs are consequently used to study receptor binding, signaling, peptide metabolism, and neurotensin structure-function relationships. |
Experimental Notes | For a fragment, residue-substituted analog, stereochemical variant, labeled peptide, or terminally modified form, experimental behavior should be evaluated for the exact construct rather than assumed to match the native parent peptide. Sequence-dependent solubility, aggregation, adsorption, and stability should be considered when selecting reconstitution and assay conditions. |
