Scientific Background

5-FAM-DADE-pY-LIPQQG is a fluorescent phosphotyrosine peptide derived from the Tyr992 autophosphorylation region of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). Because Tyr is already phosphorylated, this reagent is primarily a protein-tyrosine-phosphatase substrate rather than a kinase phosphate-acceptor peptide. LifeTein reports efficient dephosphorylation by mammalian PTP1B and Yersinia protein tyrosine phosphatase. The 5-FAM label provides a fluorescent handle for analytical and phosphatase-assay workflows.

Research Applications
  • PTP1B activity assays
  • protein tyrosine phosphatase studies
  • EGFR Tyr992 phosphopeptide research
  • fluorescence-based phosphopeptide assays
Experimental Notes

This peptide already contains phosphotyrosine. Do not market it as an unphosphorylated EGFR kinase substrate. Protect the FAM-labeled reagent from light and establish optical background controls for the intended assay.
