Scientific Background

KRRRAL-pS-VASLPGL is a primed casein kinase 1 (CK1) substrate derived from the glycogen synthase phosphorylation region. The pre-existing phosphoserine provides the acidic priming determinant recognized by CK1, which phosphorylates the downstream serine. This peptide, often referred to as CK1tide, has been used to characterize CK1 substrate recognition and kinase variants.

Research Applications
  • CK1 kinase activity assays
  • primed-substrate phosphorylation studies
  • CK1 substrate-selectivity research
  • CK1 inhibitor screening
Experimental Notes

The pre-installed phosphoserine is an essential structural feature of this construct. It should not be treated as equivalent to the corresponding nonphosphorylated peptide.
