Beta-Amyloid (13-28)

Aβ(13-28) spans the central amyloid-beta region containing the hydrophobic LVFFA motif and has been used in studies of amyloid formation and fibril-associated structure. It provides a shorter model for examining sequence determinants of Aβ self-association.

N-terminal truncation and fragment boundaries can substantially change solubility, metal binding and aggregation behavior. This exact sequence should therefore be treated as a distinct research reagent rather than substituted with full-length Aβ.
