5-TAMRA-GQVGRQLAIIGDDINR is a fluorescent peptide derived from the BH3 region of the pro-apoptotic protein Bak. Bak BH3 peptides bind the hydrophobic groove of anti-apoptotic BCL-2-family proteins such as BCL-XL, making fluorescent versions useful probes for competitive binding and inhibitor-development assays.
