Scientific Background | Cyclic CNGRCG is an NGR-motif peptide used to study recognition of aminopeptidase N/CD13 in angiogenic vasculature. The constrained NGR motif has been investigated as a vascular-homing ligand, and studies with CNGRCG-containing constructs support preferential interaction with a CD13 isoform associated with tumor blood vessels. NGR-containing peptides can also undergo sequence-dependent deamidation to isoDGR, so peptide handling and assay timing should be controlled when receptor selectivity is important. |
Research Applications | - CD13/aminopeptidase N binding studies
- angiogenic-vasculature targeting research
- peptide conjugation and delivery studies
- NGR-to-isoDGR stability studies
|
Experimental Notes | The Cys1-Cys5 disulfide constrains the NGR motif. Binding and stability should be evaluated under the intended buffer, pH, temperature, and incubation conditions. |
Selected References | - Differential binding of drugs containing the NGR motif to CD13 isoforms in tumor vessels, epithelia, and myeloid cells
- Critical role of flanking residues in NGR-to-isoDGR transition and CD13/integrin receptor switching
