Allatostatin I (free acid)

Allatostatin I (free acid) is a synthetic research peptide in the allatostatin insect neuropeptide family. Allatostatins are insect neuropeptides with several structural families. Type-A allatostatins characteristically share a C-terminal Y/FXFGL-NH2 motif and act through cognate allatostatin GPCRs. Drosophila studies have identified peptide/receptor pairs and shown that different allatostatin families can signal through distinct receptors. Individual isoforms are useful for comparative receptor activation and insect neuroendocrine research.
