Scientific Background

PKCe pseudosubstrate derived peptide is a synthetic protein kinase C substrate/regulatory peptide. Protein kinase C is a family of Ser/Thr kinases regulated by lipids and, for conventional isoforms, calcium. Synthetic PKC substrate, pseudosubstrate, and regulatory-domain peptides are used to distinguish catalytic phosphorylation from regulatory interactions and to develop kinase assays. Isoform and sequence context can materially affect activity.

Research Applications
  • PKC activity assays
  • PKC substrate phosphorylation studies
  • pseudosubstrate/inhibitory peptide research
  • kinase assay development
Experimental Notes

The exact sequence, phosphorylation state, residue numbering, terminal modifications, labels, and species context should be matched to the intended assay. Sequence motifs support experimental interpretation but do not by themselves establish absolute enzyme specificity or native biological activity.
