Scientific Background

LL-37, reverse sequence is a synthetic research peptide in the LL-37 / cathelicidin family. LL-37 is the 37-residue human cathelicidin-derived antimicrobial peptide. Structural studies show that LL-37 adopts environment-dependent amphipathic helical conformations and interacts strongly with membranes. Native, truncated, reversed, or otherwise modified LL-37 peptides are useful for antimicrobial, membrane-binding, peptide-structure, and sequence-dependence studies.

Research Applications
  • receptor or ligand-binding assays
  • competition studies
  • biochemical or enzymatic assays
  • analytical LC-MS/HPLC methods
  • antibody controls
  • cell-based experiments
  • comparative structure-activity studies
Experimental Notes

For a fragment, residue-substituted analog, stereochemical variant, labeled peptide, or terminally modified form, experimental behavior should be evaluated for the exact construct rather than assumed to match the native parent peptide. Sequence-dependent solubility, aggregation, adsorption, oxidation, and stability should be considered when establishing reconstitution, storage, and assay conditions.
