Scientific Background

Insulin Receptor (1142 - 1153), Amide is a synthetic research peptide in the insulin receptor kinase-domain peptide family. Synthetic peptides derived from the insulin receptor kinase domain are established tools for studying receptor autophosphorylation and phosphotyrosine turnover. In particular, insulin receptor residues 1142-1153 have been used as a tyrosine-phosphorylated substrate for phosphotyrosyl protein phosphatases, while synthetic tyrosine-containing peptides have also been used to characterize the substrate specificity and kinetics of the insulin receptor kinase.

Research Applications
  • insulin receptor kinase assays
  • phosphotyrosyl phosphatase assays
  • kinase substrate-specificity studies
  • phosphorylation/dephosphorylation method development
  • LC-MS/HPLC analytical controls
Experimental Notes

For fragments, substituted analogs, labeled peptides, stereochemical variants, or terminally modified forms, experimental behavior should be evaluated for the exact construct rather than assumed to match the native parent peptide. Sequence-dependent solubility, aggregation, adsorption, oxidation, and stability should be considered when establishing reconstitution, storage, and assay conditions.
