Background
Apolipoprotein E (apoE) is a lipid carrier in both the peripheral and the central nervous systems. Lipid-loaded apoE lipoprotein particles bind to several cell surface receptors to support membrane homeostasis and injury repair in the brain. Considering prevalence and relative risk magnitude, the ?u4 allele of the APOE gene is the strongest genetic risk factor for late-onset Alzheimer's disease (AD).
Description
Recombinant Human APOE4/Apolipoprotein E Protein is expressed from Expi293 with hFc tag at the N-terminal. It contains Lys19-His317.
Target
APOE4/Apolipoprotein E

Less than 1EU per ug by the LAL method.
Formulation
Lyophilized from 0.22 um filtered solution in PBS, 2mM DTT, 5mM CHAPS (pH 7.4). Normally 8% trehalose is added as a protectant before lyophilization.
Stability and Storage

Reconstituted protein stable at -80 C for 12 months, 4 C for 1 week. Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
Shipped at ambient temperature.
Reconstitution

Centrifuge tubes before opening. Reconstituting to a concentration of more than 100 ug/ml is recommended. Dissolve the lyophilized protein in distilled water.
