Sauvagine is a hypotensive and diuretic peptide, isolated from the skin of the neotropical frog Phyllomedusa sauvagei. It affects diuresis in the cardiovascular system and causes the release of ACTH and endorphins.

Sauvagine, frog is a 39-residue synthetic peptide with the sequence Gly-Pro-Pro-Ile-Ser-Ile-Asp-Leu-Ser-Leu-Glu-Leu-Leu-Arg-Lys-Met-Ile-Glu-Ile-Glu-Lys-Gln-Glu-Lys-Glu-Lys-Gln-Gln-Ala-Ala-Asn-Asn-Arg-Leu-Leu-Leu-Asp-Thr-Ile. C-terminal amidation removes the terminal carboxylate charge. The sequence contains 4 Lys and 2 Arg residues, contributing cationic character.
