Scientific Background

RGD-4C is a synthetic RGD integrin-binding peptide. This product contains the Arg-Gly-Asp (RGD) cell-adhesion motif. RGD is a canonical integrin-recognition sequence in extracellular-matrix proteins such as fibronectin. Linear, cyclic, flanked, and chemically modified RGD peptides are widely used to study integrin binding and cell adhesion.

Research Applications
  • integrin binding and competition assays
  • cell-adhesion studies
  • biomaterial functionalization research
  • linear-versus-cyclic RGD comparisons
Experimental Notes

The behavior of a motif embedded in a longer peptide can differ from the isolated tag or parent sequence. Flanking residues, linkers, phosphorylation, fluorophores, affinity handles, cyclization, and terminal modifications may alter accessibility, binding, uptake, or assay performance.
