Scientific Background

Kisspeptin-13 (4-13) (human) is a synthetic research peptide in the kisspeptin / KISS1R family. Kisspeptins are KISS1-derived peptides that activate the KISS1 receptor. The naturally active human kisspeptin forms share a common C-terminal decapeptide, and structure-activity studies show that this C-terminal region retains strong receptor activity. Kisspeptin fragments and analogs are therefore useful for KISS1R binding, signaling, peptide stability, and structure-activity research.

Research Applications
  • receptor or ligand-binding assays
  • competition studies
  • biochemical or enzymatic assays
  • analytical LC-MS/HPLC methods
  • antibody controls
  • cell-based experiments
  • comparative structure-activity studies
Experimental Notes

For a fragment, residue-substituted analog, stereochemical variant, labeled peptide, or terminally modified form, experimental behavior should be evaluated for the exact construct rather than assumed to match the native parent peptide. Sequence-dependent solubility, aggregation, adsorption, oxidation, and stability should be considered when establishing reconstitution, storage, and assay conditions.
