Scientific Background

Human CMV Assemblin Protease Substrate (M-site) is a synthetic research peptide in the cytomegalovirus-derived peptide family. Human cytomegalovirus proteins contain several immunodominant CD8 T-cell epitopes. The pp65(495-503) peptide NLVPMVATV is a canonical HLA-A*02:01-restricted epitope and is widely used for CMV-specific T-cell detection, tetramer assays, stimulation, and comparative immune-response studies. Other CMV peptides, including protease-region substrates and murine CMV epitopes, serve distinct virological or biochemical applications and should be interpreted according to the exact source protein and species.

Research Applications
  • CMV-specific CD8 T-cell assays
  • HLA-A2 tetramer/control studies
  • viral epitope mapping
  • T-cell stimulation experiments
  • CMV peptide analytical controls
Experimental Notes

For antigenic peptides, MHC/HLA restriction, species, viral strain or tumor-antigen isoform, residue numbering, sequence substitutions, and chemical modifications can materially affect peptide binding and cellular recognition. The exact construct should therefore be matched to the intended assay and the reference sequence used in the experimental system.
