Scientific Background

HER2/neu (869-877) is a synthetic research peptide in the HER2/neu-derived tumor antigen peptide family. HER2/neu contains multiple experimentally defined HLA-restricted T-cell epitopes. The GP2 peptide corresponds to HER2 residues 654-662 and has been used to generate HLA-A2-restricted peptide-specific CTL. Other HER2 epitopes, including E75-region peptides and HLA-A3-restricted sequences, are used to study tumor-antigen presentation, T-cell recognition, and anchor-residue effects on HLA affinity.

Research Applications
  • HER2-specific CTL assays
  • HLA peptide-binding experiments
  • tumor-antigen epitope mapping
  • GP2/E75 peptide comparisons
  • T-cell immune-monitoring controls
Experimental Notes

For antigenic peptides, MHC/HLA restriction, species, viral strain or tumor-antigen isoform, residue numbering, sequence substitutions, and chemical modifications can materially affect peptide binding and cellular recognition. The exact construct should therefore be matched to the intended assay and the reference sequence used in the experimental system.
