Scientific Background | HBVpol502, HBV polymerase (502 - 510) is a synthetic hepatitis B virus-derived antigenic peptide. HBV-derived synthetic peptides from core, surface, envelope, polymerase, and other viral proteins are used to characterize virus-specific cellular immunity. Published studies have mapped multiple HLA-restricted cytotoxic T-cell epitopes using synthetic HBV peptides and demonstrated sequence-specific peptide recognition by CD8-positive T cells. HLA restriction, immunodominance, and functional response vary with the exact residue range and sequence. |
Experimental Notes | For antigenic or viral peptides, HLA restriction, cellular response, and immunological activity should not be inferred solely from the source protein name; the exact sequence, residue numbering, strain or genotype, and experimental system should be considered. For labeled or otherwise modified variants, the modification may also affect binding or assay behavior. |
