Caspase 2 Substrate, chromogenic; Ac-VDQQD-pNA is a synthetic research peptide in the caspase peptide substrate family. Caspases are cysteine proteases that recognize short Asp-containing peptide motifs. Positional-scanning and structural studies established distinct substrate preferences among caspase family members; DEVD-type sequences are widely used for caspase-3/7 activity, whereas YVAD-related motifs are associated with caspase-1 assays.
