Scientific Background

Adropin(34-76) is the putative secreted, biologically active region of the 76-residue peptide encoded by the energy-homeostasis-associated ENHO gene. Experimental studies using synthetic adropin(34-76) have linked the peptide to regulation of glucose utilization, insulin signaling and metabolic flexibility in diet-induced obesity models. Later work showed effects on hepatic insulin-signaling pathways, endoplasmic-reticulum stress and glucose production.

Research Applications
  • energy-homeostasis research
  • glucose and lipid metabolism studies
  • insulin-signaling research
  • metabolic flexibility studies
Experimental Notes

This catalog form corresponds specifically to residues 34-76 rather than full-length adropin. The current LifeTein specification reports MW 4501.88 and ≥95% HPLC purity. Research findings from animal models should not be presented as established therapeutic effects in humans.
