Ac-MBP (4-14) Peptide

The synthetic peptide from myelin basic protein (QKRPSQRSKYL) can be used as a substrate for protein kinase C (PKC) in vitro kinase assay and negative controls. Its Km value of 7 µM is comparable with the values for H1 histone and intact myelin basic protein, but its velocity of phosphorylation is twice as fast.

Ac-MBP (4-14) Peptide is a 11-residue synthetic peptide with the sequence Gln-Lys-Arg-Pro-Ser-Gln-Arg-Ser-Lys-Tyr-Leu. N-terminal acetylation neutralizes the terminal alpha-amino group. The sequence contains 2 Lys and 2 Arg residues, contributing cationic character.
