The tricosapeptide can be used to competitively elute DYKDDDDK-tagged fusion proteins from immobilized anti-DYKDDDDK affinity column, especially when a DYKDDDDK-tagged protein is sensitive to low pH. The 3x DYKDDDDK Peptide may interfere with protein determination assays and absorbance at 280 nm. The peptide can be removed from the eluate by desalting.
